The Importance of Vesalius
Vesalius was one of the first to ever go thorough with the dissection of cadavers. Without him we might not of ever gotten a detailed description of the human body. We wouldn't have known the structure of it or how we could advance more in medicine. If it wasn't for Versalius to do his own method of anatomy on the human body, he wouldn't had began to question the theories of Galen. Who was a Greek physician who served for the Emperor Marcus Aurelius in Rome. During Vesalius' visit to the University of Bologna he discovered that Galen's drawings on the human body were really conclusions drawn on the dissections of animals. Vesalius also knew this because the dissection of the human body was strictly forbidden by the Roman religion. So Galen based his conclusion on mostly the structures of dogs, monkeys, and pigs.
